Outlook at Winter 2016

As the end of the year draws closer, our chapter has spent a lot of time looking ahead to the Winter 2016 semester and the goals we wish to accomplish.

First and foremost, we are working hard to recruit a successful winter pledge class.  A large emphasis is placed on recruitment every semester and we look to hit the ground running once the semester starts. If all goes well, we are planning to get a mid-semester rush class as well!

In addition to rush, we also seek to strengthen our academic performance and obtain a cumulative chapter GPA above the all men's average. We will be introducing new resources for our members in order to raise our cumulative GPA and reinforce that our sole purpose as students at Grand Valley is to obtain an education.

We will be hosting many fundraising and philanthropy events to raise money for our chapter and donations towards our national philanthropy, the Military Heroes Campaign. Be on the lookout for tickets for Grand Rapids Griffins games, more homemade peanut butter cups, and much more!

All of our Chapter goals, if reached, will contribute to our largest goal and a benchmark award in Kappa Sigma: the Founder's Award of Chapter Excellence ("FACE"). The FACE award, named in honor of the Five Friends and Brothers who established the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, is the highest award that any Kappa Sigma Chapter may receive. It recognizes outstanding Chapter management, achievement, and program development in all areas of operation. If our Chapter meets all of the criteria, we will be presented the FACE Award at our National Leadership Conference this summer in Orlando!

Our Chapter has big plans for this upcoming semester; be sure to check back for updates along the way!
